018: Curtis Cloward Pt. 2 on marrying to “kill the gay”, on plunging into self-destruction, on the shame of excommunication, on divorce, starting over and regaining his family

This series continues with Nathan and Jefferson’s father Curtis Cloward. In this episode, pt. 2 of 2 with Curtis, he discusses his on-going battle to overcome homosexuality, following counsel of Bishops and BYU therapists to marry as a means to do this, his marriage to his best friend Rea, how his shattered self-esteem fueled self-destructive behaviors, how the shame intensified with a traumatic excommunication, how he finally divorced and started over, and how he finally reconciled with his family and recovered his relationships with his children.
